Scope & Sequence
The scope and sequence is a comprehensive list of topics that the Sunday School curriculum will cover throughout the school year. it can be thought of as the curriculum or syllabus. The topics within the scope and sequence are further specified using learning outcomes. For the revised curriculum, we have identified 53 different topics to be covered. These topics will be introduced during grades 1-4, developed during grades 5-8 and then mastered in grades 9 to 12. This means a child will be exposed to a topic at least 3 times during their Sunday School career.
If we break the term 'Scope and Sequence' down, scope refers to the depth and range of the content to be taught at a specific grade level and the development of the content across grade levels. The sequence is the order in which the content should be taught for the best learning within a grade level and across grade levels.
When you click the 'Lessons by Topic' link on the left side of Talmido, you will see the 53 topics, as well as which grades those topics will be covered in. Further, you will have the opportunity to see which lessons in that specific grade relate to that topic.
