Holy Trinity
G8.LO1 - Examine the Holy Qurbana and discuss how the {being, nature, essence, existence, life} of God applies equally to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father

Salvation

Final Judgment

Holy Spirit

G8.LO27 - Identify the Holy Spirit as the Perfector of the Sacraments.

The Church
G8.LO29 - Investigate the beginning of the Church and characteristics of the early Church .
G8.LO30 - Associate and interpret the Church as the Bride of Christ, the Temple of God.
G8.LO31 - Understand that Christ is the Head of our Church, and the understanding of our Church hierarchy.
G8.LO32 - Explain that every member of the Church are together the faithful, and everyone together is the Body of Christ.
G8.LO33 - Explore the four characteristics of the Church found in Acts 2:42 (Apostle's teaching, Prayer, Fellowship, Breaking of bread), and discover the tangible and visible nature of the living Church.
Life After Death
G8.LO34 - Explain once we pass from this world, we are passing over to the next world, the abode of the departed, the place of light.
G8.LO35 - Relate how life after death is like the children of Israel passing over the red sea and how we are on our way to the promised land, which is heaven and salvation.
G8.LO36 - Explain how the departed enjoy deeper communion with God along with the saints.
G8.LO37 - Learn the biblical foundation of the Qukilion for the departed.
G8.LO38 - Investigate how being departed means awaiting the resurrection of the dead at the Second Coming of Jesus our Lord.
Scripture
G8.LO39 - Investigate and list the different sections of the Bible.
G8.LO40 - Associate the Holy Scripture as the sacred Book of Faith of the Church, and as the written testimony of the Truth taught by the living Word, our Lord Jesus Christ.
G8.LO41 - Examine the process through which the Old and New Testaments were canonized.
G8.LO42 - Familiarize the use of Scripture in the Holy Qurbana.
Councils
G8.LO43 - Analyze the basic issues of the Council of Ephesus and how they connect to the issues of the Council of Chalcedon.
G8.LO44 - Investigate the importance of correct Doctrine.
Church Fathers
G8.LO45 - Demonstrate that although Church fathers are known to us by familiar classications (apostolic, Greek, Latin, Syriac, and Malankara), that the reason they are venerated as Church fathers are because of their lives and contributions (e.g., Doctors of the Church, monastic life, piety, defender of the Faith, hymnwriters/poets, etc.)
Syriac Liturgical Traditions
G8.LO46 - Develop deeply the idea of Liturgical Traditions.
Angels
G8.LO47 - Explain the role of angels in our lives.
G8.LO48 - Examine the fallen angels.
G8.LO49 - Interpret how certain instances of the word "angel" in the Old Testament refer to God.
Mental Health
G8.LO50 - Reframe ways to eliminate the stigma of counseling, and recognize that it is acceptable to ask for help from a parent, teacher, church leader or other trusted adult and to also seek help from a professional.
G8.LO51 - Relate the Church's spiritual disciplines and sacraments as tools to deal with burdens of a fallen world.
G8.LO52 - Examine how the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.
G8.LO53 - Identify positive and negative influences of friends and peers and focus on finding positive friendships.
G8.LO54 - Recognize signs of bullying and elaborate what to do in those situations.
G8.LO55 - Emphasize ways to recognize & name their own emotions and feelings and respect those of others.
G8.LO56 - Recognize inappropriate situations and identify what to do if encountering them.
G8.LO57 - Construct a healthy perspective on the body, namely that the body as part of the whole person made in the image and likeness of God.
