As explained in the Orthodox Study Bible notes, God the Father made heaven and earth as we profess in the Nicene Creed, and the "Spirit of God" is the Holy Spirit. God spoke His Word who is Christ, and thus the Holy Trinity made heaven and earth. God is One and at this age we should begin using the same word for Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
