  • G11.LO24 - Integrate the Confession of Faith (Omologia) into the concept of Apostolic Succession
  • G11.LO25 - Distinguish between the Old Testament (Aaronic) Priesthood vs. New Testament (Christ-Melchizedek, Perfection of the Aaronic Priesthood by Christ).
  • G11.LO26- Conclude that the Priest is ordained as a part of the faithful (laity) not separate.

  • The Apostolic Succession of Priesthood
    • "Amologia" (ܐܡܘܠܘܓܝܐ) is the cutting of the hair and the robing of the candidate with the priestly garb. It reminds the candidate of the divine ministry through the faith of the Syriac Orthodox Church. The amologia is an examination that takes place after the communion of the Mother of God and Saints. The bishop sits on his throne, conducts the examination, and then clips the candidate's hair.
