- G1.LO10 - Identify Jesus as the Son of God.
- G1.LO11 - Identify Jesus as born of St. Mary and God become man.
Textbook Lesson
Expanding Thoughts on Lesson
- Introduction
- Activity: Ask children what if they were asked to walk to Church instead of driving? Get students to share what they would feel and if it would be easier or harder. Ask also what is needed to pack for the journey .. this helps set the context of how St. Mary and St. Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem because of the census.
- The Birth of Christ
- Recording of Nativity Feast Lilio (1st Watch Qolo 1 - Mary Said) Audio Recording
- Activity: Ask children how they feel to know that baby Jesus was in a manger of straw?
- Visitors: The Shepherds and the Magi
- Activity: Ask children how they feel if you were one of the shepherds? Would they be scared? Would they be excited? How do they feel about the gifts that the Magi presented to Jesus?
