Grade 11 Lesson 10: The Royal Priesthood

G11.LO24 - Integrate the Confession of Faith (Omologia) into the concept of Apostolic Succession

The Apostolic Succession of Priesthood
- "Amologia" (ܐܡܘܠܘܓܝܐ) is the cutting of the hair and a robing of the candidate with the priestly garb. It reminds the candidate of the divine ministry through the faith of the Syriac Orthodox Church. The amologia is an examination that takes place after the communion of the Mother of God and Saints. The bishop sits in his throne, conducts the examination, and then clips the candidate's hair.
