- Correction for USA/Canada Version: "Psalm 1 reminds that a man who follows the will of God is blessed, and points us to Christ. As Fr. Patrick Henry Reardon observes, “Christ is the one who fulfills (the Law), and He is the key to its understanding”. This could be seen as introducing key concerns of the whole Bible, since it describes the two fundamental classes of mankind—sinners and righteous."
- Synopsis
- Old Testament characters, events, and narratives pointing to the New Testament and Jesus Christ. The birth of the Church marked a transition from Circumcision to Baptism. This Circumcision of the heart (Romans 2:29) in the Spirit became the symbol of the New Covenant. The Old Testament prefigures, anticipates, and announces beforehand God's redemption through the person and work of his incarnate Son, Jesus Christ.
- The New Testament and the New Covenant
- The quote is incorrectly attributed to Ezekiel but should be Jeremiah, i.e., - Jeremiah and Ezekiel describe this as a New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:22-28). Jeremiah 31:34 probably captures this transformation best – “… For I will be merciful to their wrongdoings and I will no longer remember their sins.”
