- Vocabulary
- Catholicos: Title used for the head of certain churches in some Eastern Christian traditions. The title implies that the church is autocephalous and autonomous.
- Autocephaly: The status of a hierarchical Christian church whose head bishop does not report to any higher-ranking bishop.
- Autonomous: A self-ruling church that does not answer to another church or organization for any decision making. Obviously, the church is not entirely autonomous because it answers to Jesus Christ who is its head (Ephesians 1:20-23).
- Schism: The formal separation of a Church into two Churches or the secession of a group owing to doctrinal and other differences.
