Expanding Thoughts on Lesson
- Mourning and Ongoing Prayers
- When you enter the church, there is usually a paper where we can write the names of our departed loved ones so the priest can especially remember them during (or after) the service. Most people write on the anniversary of the departure. But you can write every day. If you ask, the priest will do a special prayer for the person, after the HQ, at your home, and even at the cemetery. In these cases, it is nice to give the priest a gift of appreciation, if possible, but unnecessary. It is good to remember that “God is God of the living not of the dead.”
